Music 2020
Music plays an important role in our life. Each Sunday we sing uplifting hymns accompanied by the organ, and include inspiring choral or instrumental music in the service, along with an organ prelude and postlude.
Our choral group “Pilgrim Singers” is led by Adele Nisbet, former conductor of the Sanctuary Choir at St Andrew’s Uniting Church and former Head of Vocal Studies at the Queensland Conservatorium.
Organ music is presented by Dr Steven Nisbet OAM - Organist for Pilgrim People Brisbane
Former Organist & Director of Music, St Andrew’s Uniting Church, Brisbane
Past-President, Organ Society of Queensland
Former Senior Lecturer in Mathematics Education, Griffith University

Dear Friends,
Below are the YouTube links for the organ music for December 25th and 27th 2020. I will also be playing the music live at the Pilgrim People Brisbane service on Christmas Day at 8.30am and Sunday afternoon 27th at 2.30pm. The organ for the next few months is an Allen CF8 digital organ, with a wonderful authentic pipe organ sound. It is on loan courtesy of Jim Clinch, from All Organs Australia. Thanks, Jim. The Pilgrim Singers, conducted by Adele Nisbet, will be contributing to worship on Christmas Day. I would like to say that it was very gratifying last September to be asked, along with Adele, to organise the music for Pilgrim People Brisbane services. Weekly PPB services have been held for three months now (from October to December). It is a joy to be involved with the group, and it is very rewarding for our gifts to be supported and encouraged by the PPB leadership team rather than constrained. After experiencing our musical efforts at St Andrew’s Uniting Church over many years, the leadership team members have put their trust in us, and we appreciate that. We enjoyed Steven’s ‘organ’ playing at the service on Sunday 25th October. The ‘organ’ was actually a keyboard connected to a laptop which enabled him to play a large pipe organ in Holland via a computer program called Hauptwerk.
All 7486 pipes of the organ in Laurenskerk in Rotterdam have been digitally sampled and stored, and the files have been made available for downloading from the internet. Many other organs around the world (England, Germany, France, Australia) have been similarly digitally sampled and stored on the internet.
