Thursday 29th February at 2pm to 3pm 4. Thursday 7th March at 2pm to 3pm 5. Thursday 14th March at 2pm to 3pm 6. Thursday 21st March at 2pm to 3pm This is a Lenten Lectionary Program for 2024 with commentary by international scholars – Dr Paul Creevey, Fr Andy Hamilton, Gerard Moore, Paul Rowse, Debra Snoody and Sister Joan Chittester - facilitating reflection and questioning. We are living in a period where political talk has become increasingly oppositional and polarising, setting the tone for public and private discussion. Despite our comfort and community, we can ask if this is not the worst of times. So this is our Lenten fare, the stuff of our Lenten “fast”. One aspect is the need for harmony. It is a word reduced too much to wellbeing: we will pursue its faith dimensions. Harmony is a discipline. It has to be won, held, remade, revalued. At its best, it is built around the joyful play of difference, a mutual love and respect, and a treasuring of other voices and ways. It builds for a trust, a consensus and strengthens community. |
